In Which Sammy Becomes a Blogger and I Sew a Delphine Skirt

I sewed a skirt I wanted to share with you! And it turns out, Sammy didn't want to miss out on the action. Every time I told him to stay put, he ran right into the frame. He was so persistent I figured he had to be included in the post ;)

I bought Love at First Stitch awhile ago when I was looking for some quick and satisfying clothing sewing projects. It's written by Tilly, who I first found on The Great British Sewing Bee. It's a GREAT starter book for anyone who wants to get into sewing but is intimidated by traditional patterns. The Delphine Skirt is one of the patterns in the book. In total it took about 2 hours for me to put together- a huge win in my impatient book.

My inspiration was the brown corduroy skirt J.Crew is carrying this season. She's such a beauty.

Here's my version:

But enough about the skirt- This is probably the best action shot Sammy got.

Right after this, he caught the hem of my skirt and pulled it down. Such a helper, this guy.
