Tomorrow is International Women's day and the Day Without Women protest.
"The goal is to highlight the economic power and significance that women have in the US and global economies, while calling attention to the economic injustices women and gender nonconforming people continue to face. We play an indispensable role in the daily functions of life in all of society, through paid & unpaid, seen & unseen labor. "
If you can, you're encouraged to protest paid and unpaid labor. That means work, child care, effectively anything where you're contributing to society. Through the cessation of contribution, the hope is to highlight our impact.
For those of us that really can't stop work for the day- there are two other things you can do.
1. Wear red to show support and solidarity
2. Boycott buying anything for the day. Women's influence in the economy is enormous and you can influence the message.
