Goodbye to our Dollhouse

While living in the Dollhouse, we touched every part of the home except for the master bathroom. It was a true labor of love. Some projects were well documented on this blog, while others fell by the wayside.

Before jumping into our new house, I wanted to say a proper goodbye to our first home…

Welcome to the final tour. If you missed the first tour, check it out here.

Doesn’t she look like a sweet little doll house? It might be a future DIY for Holly if i’m being honest..

It was a life goal of mine to have a library. This was one of the first projects we tackled. The bookshelves are an IKEA Billy Bookshelf hack. I want to build another library in our new home, but think i’ve learned more about how we’ll use the space so have some modifications in mind.

Across the hall from the library lives the dining room.

I really love the light we had in this room. West Elm still sells it so we might get another for the new house… This space was a favorite because from a renovation perspective, we only had to paint and swap out the floors. It was one of the first rooms that felt ‘finished’.

Ah our kitchen! I love love love love this space. Our new home doesn’t hold a candle to this beautiful space. I miss it so much, even though we’ve only been apart for a week.

Storage for days…

Storage for days…

The kitchen opened up into the living room. We removed a half wall next to the garage door the first day we moved in. It helped make the whole space feel more open and helped with the flow of life.

Upstairs, Holly’s room was a favorite of mine. We brought the yellow curtains with us to the new house and I think they’ll work well in her new room.

We redid the upstairs bathroom in preparation for Holly’s arrival. Phil made the cherry countertops and frame for the mirror. It looked beautiful in the room and felt like such a special touch for our baby girl’s bathroom.

We finished the basement! It was crazy how much larger it felt once the drywall went up. We had enough space for a bathroom, bedroom, storage area, and rec space.

This was the only bathroom that got brass finishes all the way through. The shower set was, unfortunately, a piece of crap. But it looked realllll good!

No styling, just plain ol’ basement furniture.

Two large dogs in our teeny tiny back yard was a challenge. We ended up installing pet grade turf since the grass kept dying. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would!

We threw ourselves into building a home here. We learned so much along the way.

Can’t wait to do it all again!

Up next, tour of our new house!
